Three huge one-day festivals will kick off a series of Park Live concerts at Maidstone’s Mote Park to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
Cafe Mambo Ibiza Classics, Together Festival and Summer Love will welcome visitors over the bank holiday and are the first of a number of summer gigs to come to Kent this year.
Starting the holiday off with a bang is Cafe Mambo Ibiza Classics, which will see the iconic party brand bring its chilled Ibiza classics and entertainers from the White Isle to Maidstone.
Partygoers can head to the park for one of the biggest Cafe Mambo Ibiza events of the year and enjoy music from huge headliners including dance music legend Judge Jules, American DJ Todd Terry , television personality Brandon Block and house musician Lovely Laura.
The lineup also includes music from Bongo Ben, Tristan Ingram and Woody Cook, sons of radio host and TV presenter Zoe Ball and 90s superstar Fatboy Slim.
The following day, Together Festival, a free concert for NHS staff and key workers to thank them for their hard work, will return to Mote Park.
With a lineup packed with top pop artists, nostalgic anthems and tribute bands, the concert has something for almost everyone.
2017 X Factor winner Rak-Su and a host of boy bands from the 90s and 2000s, such as 5ive and Blazin’ Squad, will perform at this year’s Together festival.
The lineup will also see performances from Big Brovas, Shola Ama and Angelo Starr, as well as tribute acts to Queen, Elton John and The Beatles.
A spokesperson said: “Together Festival will once again bring the community together with free tickets for NHS staff and key workers.
“Tickets will start at just £5 for non-key workers. We plan to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in style.”
The event also features its own street food festival, a beer, cider and beer village, a prosecco, gin and cocktail lounge and a children’s funfair.
The last of these three bank holiday gigs is Summer Love, a brand new reggae and ska festival making its Kent debut this year.
Headlining Summer Love will feature British reggae icons UB40, with the vocals of original band member Ali Campbell. They will perform some of their greatest hits, such as Red Red Wine and Kingston Town, as the sun sets over Mote Park
Innovative R’n’B reggae band Aswad, London ska band The Dualers and DJ General Levy are also due to perform at the festival.
To top it off, the concert will also serve food from around the world from a number of independent food and drink vendors, including authentic Caribbean cuisine and rum punch.
There will also be entertainment and activities to keep the kids busy while you enjoy the live music outdoors.
The Park Live series will continue throughout the summer and will include the Mote Park Proms with Katherine Jenkins, the LGBTQ+ Glitterbomb Festival and the Rock the Mote Tribute Festival and later this year.
