Live music is coming to the Village Green July 8, 9 and 14 as part of the FREE Summer Concert Series presented by Orcas Center, OrcaSong Farm, Country Corner and San Juan County.
Friday, July 8 at 6 p.m.: Zan Fiskum with special guest, Grace McCune
Island favorite Grace McCune opens with Maple Valley-raised singer/songwriter Zan Fiskum, who uses her haunting, beautifully controlled vocals to craft ethereal, moody folk/pop songs. Zan made his national debut on NBC’s The Voice as a Top Nine runner-up. She has achieved over 2 million streams on Spotify alone.
Saturday July 9 at 6 p.m.: Leon Bell with special guest, Leon J
Leon Bell puts a contemporary spin on soul and R&B styles that resonate with rhythm, melody and passion. Now 70, he has had decades of success, from writing hit songs for Elton John to becoming a top 16 performer on The X Factor.
Opening for LeRoy Bell is Leon J, whose music focuses on tapping feet, clapping hands – “Simply Good Music.” Modern styles meet Delta Blues, Country, Country blues and Americana Roots Music.
Thursday July 14 at 7 p.m.: Asleep at the wheel
Asleep at the Wheel is an American western swing band formed in Paw Paw, West Virginia, and based in Austin, Texas. The group has won nine Grammy Awards since its inception in 1970, released more than twenty albums and scored more than 21 singles on the Billboard country charts.
