“Exosphere” was written in times of pandemic and is part of several songs to be released in the near future – it is also Gus’ first attempt to use a 7-string guitar in an official recording.
Gus says, “When the pandemic hit in early 2020, all of Firewind’s world tour plans were canceled. I found myself stuck at home for an entire year and not knowing what the future will bring. and before I knew it, I had already gathered enough material for a new album. With a new reality in front of me, I started to develop the new solo project and this time I decided to leave my guitar behind. to be the voice, instead of having a singer or special guests. It got me to create a bunch of new instrumental songs. “Exosphere” was one of the first ideas I came up with. I went through many different versions and arrangements before deciding on the last one. The latest addition to the song incorporated some lower riffs, after getting my hands on a 7-string guitar for the first time last summer. was to add new elements to my music while e n retaining the sound and style that I have been known for. I am really happy with the final results and hope you enjoy the new music. Stay tuned for more to come in the near future! “
