Michael Buble tops ranking for best live video on Facebook at year-end – Billboard

A video of Michael Bublé baking cookies at home with his wife is number 1 uploaded to BillboardTop Facebook Live Videos at the end of the year for 2020.

Billboard’s Best Facebook Live Video Rankings is a monthly snapshot of the largest and most responsive videos posted by musicians on Facebook Live, as tracked by media analytics firm Shareablee, on a monthly basis. Rankings are determined by a formula that mixes reactions, comments, shares, and views from the first seven days. For the 2019 year-end list, the best videos of the year are compared against each other using the same formula, using the tracking period from December 1, 2019 to November 30, 2020.

Uploaded on April 6, Bublé’s video was one of several live broadcasts posted by musicians during the first months of quarantine due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. It featured the crooner and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, baking oatmeal cookies at home.

The video sparked controversy after Bublé nudged Lopilato before apologizing, later denying allegations he was abusive; in his own Instagram post later, Lopilato also defended his family against the allegations.

Bublé’s clip was by far a musician’s biggest video on Facebook Live in 2020 in terms of views in its first seven days, with 38.6 million views, according to Shareablee. It was also the most popular download, with 480,000 reactions.

The second biggest video of the year came in the final weeks of the monitoring period: Pepe Aguilar’s November tribute to his late mother Flor Silvestre, who died on November 25 at the age of 90. The hour-long clip featured Silvestre’s funeral.

Aguilar’s video was the only other download by a musician besides Buble’s to have 10 million views in its first seven days, at 17.5 million. It was also shared 119,000 times, the highest number by a musician during the follow-up period.
