The ICE District is hosting live concerts and outdoor movies this summer

Alright Edmonton, get ready for a summer full of fun. One of the hottest spots in town just gets even hotter (or cooler, in another way). Enter: ICE District! And they’ve launched Summer Solstice, a series of really fun (and free) summer events that are coming to the very heart of the neighborhood at ICE District Plaza.

Following the Canada Day celebrations, the plaza will begin hosting a TG ICE Friday Concert Series, the ultimate after-work patio party with live music. Every Friday from July 8, the square will transform into a musical paradise with live bands and DJs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. And to start our weekend off right, this huge outdoor patio will also have tons of games. Expect Giant Jenga, Bean Bag Toss, Pink Pong tables, and Basketball hoops, among others.

And the summer fun doesn’t stop there.

On July 23, the square will host the debut of the Immersive Cinema Experience, an adult-friendly outdoor movie night that has more to offer than a night inside a theater. The plaza-turned-open-air cinema will screen cult classics from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., starting with Wayne’s World for the first show. AND they will be serving themed food and bevies. do not forget to bring your own chairs.
